Protein Powder: A Solid Backup Plan (But Food Is King!)
Let’s get something straight—real food is just better. It’s typically more bioavailable, nutrient-dense, and way more satiating. But let’s be real… sometimes, life happens, and a good-quality protein powder can come in clutch.
When it comes to whey protein, I tend to stick to whey concentrate over isolate. Why? Because concentrate retains more of the naturally occurring bioactive compounds, plus it contains a bit more fat and carbs, making it more satisfying and nutritionally dense. Whey isolate, on the other hand, goes through extra processing to remove almost all the fat and lactose—great for people with dairy sensitivities or those who want a super-fast digesting protein post-workout.
The following two grass-fed whey proteins are my personal go-to's:

The truth is, there are some solid protein powders on the market these days, and competition has really driven up the quality. That being said, I’m a sucker for grass-fed protein, especially when it comes from brands like ATP Lab.
Why? Because ATP Lab's Grass-Fed Whey is 100% free from herbicides, pesticides, or other chemicals—which means:
✔ Lower accumulation of toxic by-products
✔ Supports environmental sustainability through local sourcing
✔ Helps improve immune function
✔ Supports healthy protein metabolism
But let’s not forget: protein powder is a tool, not a meal replacement. It’s there to help you hit your daily protein intake and can also serve as a smarter alternative to processed snacks.
Oh, and ask me about my nightly ritual—I promise, you won’t be let down. 😏
